Fall Maple Leaf Demo

Students will have the opportunity to learn and see demonstrated a variety of fun techniques, including:  raw edged applique, zigzag quilting, satin stitch, foiling and beading.  The wonderful  maple leaf, pictured here,  is finished with these techniques.  It has a copper hanger that sets it off and adds distinction.  Come to a demo and learn the techniques needed to make this special leaf.  Kits will be available for purchase.

Ilene Bartos has been working with fiber arts and quilting for twelve years, designing both traditional and art quilts.  Her works have hung in galleries and shows and won various awards and ribbons.  She loves to share her passion for quilting by teaching and speaking for guilds.  Her first book, “Maple Leaf Quilts” with Martingale Publishing was released in March 2008.  It highlights innovative ways to use the traditional Maple Leaf block and shows nine techniques for making points.  Her second book is currently in production and will be available January 2010.
